WASHINGTON, DC – Today, members of the Regional Leadership Council (RLC) met with top officials at the U.S. Department of Commerce to discuss the implementation of the CHIPS and Science Act. Rep. Derek Kilmer (WA-06), leader of Region 5, led the meeting. The participants included Director of External and Government Affairs for the CHIPS Program Office Adrienne Elrod and Senior Advisor to the Secretary on CHIPS Implementation J.D. Grom.

This office has been crucial in advancing the Environmental Protection Agency's work to address the environmental impacts facing Americans who live in underserved communities overburdened by pollution.

Hoyer (MD-05), met with U.S. Department of Treasury Deputy Secretary Wally Adeyemo to discuss the department's efforts to implement the Inflation Reduction Act, the CHIPS and Science Act, the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, and other key components of Democrats' Investing in America agenda.

Enacted by House Democrats and the Biden-Harris administration last Congress, this transformational agenda includes the American Rescue Plan, the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, the CHIPS and Science Act, the Inflation Reduction Act, the Bipartisan Safer Communities Act, the Honoring Our PACT Act, and others.
