RLC Weekly: Reaching Out to Veterans
Dear Colleagues,
This week, the Regional Leadership Council (RLC) Members once again connected with constituents and highlighted how the Investing in America agenda is making a difference in the lives of every community in the country. Here are some of the highlights:
Reaching Out to Veterans

The RLC was at the forefront of informing constituents about the PACT Act. This legislation marks the largest expansion in Veterans benefits in the history of the VA, and our Members are working to make sure all Veterans in their district have the chance to access it. Here are actions that Rep. Tony Cárdenas (CA-29), Rep. Angie Craig (MN-02), Rep. Madeleine Dean (PA-04), and Rep. Troy A. Carter (LA-02) have taken to connect Veterans to their local VA ahead of the August 9th deadline.
Working with State & Local Leaders

As more investments from the Investing in America agenda become available, it’s critical that RLC Members join state and local leaders in sharing the message of how President Biden and House Democrats are working to rebuild the middle class and empower workers. Recently, RLC Leader Rep. Lori Trahan (MA-03) joined Massachusetts Governor Maura Healey and state officials to announce a new state initiative that will increase access to job opportunities. Thanks to Rep. Trahan’s work to pass the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, the CHIPS and Science Law, and Inflation Reduction Act, a new generation of students is getting access to the tools and resources they need to take on good-paying jobs and Make It In America.
Facing the Climate Crisis

RLC Leaders Rep. Jared Huffman (CA-02) and Rep. Troy A. Carter (LA-02) used their platforms to welcome clean energy investments, habitat restoration, and more! These Members provided newsletters, social posts, and constituent testimonials to highlight the impact of Investing in America grants coming to their districts. See more from Rep. Huffman’s newsletter here. See more from Rep. Carter here.
