RLC Weekly: The Infrastructure Decade
Dear Colleagues,
While the American economy continues to show strong and steady growth under the Biden-Harris Administration, Democrats celebrated the ongoing implementation of the laws that helped deliver those results. Here are some of the ways that House Democrats showcased recent investments from the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law and discussed how this funding will impact local economies.
Harnessing Clean Energy
In what RLC Leader Rep. Jared Huffman (CA-02) called a "game-changer," the U.S. Department of Transportation announced a $426 million grant from the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law to build a port terminal for the Humboldt’s Offshore Wind project. This investment will help America meet its climate goals and create good jobs for Californians. Learn more about this investment here and on Rep. Huffman's social media page.
Reopening Airports
RLC Leader Rep. Lori Trahan (MA-03) joined Gardner Mayor Mike Nicholson to celebrate the reopening of the Gardner Municipal Airport. Rep. Trahan said this $5 million investment from the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law will drive economic activity and increase tourism in North Central Massachusetts. Delivering for Our Children
The Environmental Protection Agency's Clean Bus Program is positively impacting districts across the country. Many House Democrats are celebrating recent awards made possible by the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, including RLC Leader Rep. Grace Meng (NY-06), who posted these pictures on her social media to show the tangible impact of the Investing in America agenda in Queens. RLC Leader Darren Soto (FL-09) and Rep. Maxwell Alejandro Frost (FL-10) also celebrated this program by welcoming a $5 million investment for new school buses in Orange County Public Schools. See more from these Members here and here.
