RLC Weekly: Enduring Progress
Dear Colleagues,
This week, House Democrats continued to show the strength and effectiveness of the Investing in America agenda — highlighting transformational investments and reminding the American people about the progress House Democrats are making to strengthen the middle class. Not even House Republican Leadership can ignore this progress (see House Speaker McCarthy in Syracuse, NY). Here are some of the ways House Democrats and the Regional Leadership Council (RLC) are ensuring that every corner of the country can see and feel the impact of the Investing in America agenda.
Detailing Cost Savings

As House Democrats celebrated the anniversary of the Inflation Reduction Act becoming law, RLC Leader Rep. Lori Trahan (MA-03) and Rep. Sharice Davids (KS-03) both touted this transformational legislation and its impact on insulin costs in their communities. Rep. Trahan’s focus earned her print, radio, and television coverage this week, while Rep. Davids emphasized insulin cost savings here and here. House Members continue to localize the impacts of the Inflation Reduction Act and detail just how many dollars and cents constituents are saving.
Looking Ahead

RLC Leaders Rep. Lisa Blunt Rochester (DE-AL) and Rep. Madeleine Dean (PA-04) met with local leaders and discussed how the Investing in America agenda can benefit their communities in the future. Rep. Blunt Rochester stopped by the Harrington Public Library to celebrate the $5.6 million in funding it received from the American Rescue Plan, and highlight how that funding will soon expand the library and reach more Delawareans in Kent County.

Rep. Dean toured a vehicle parts manufacturing facility in Pottstown, PA, to hear from union auto workers and see how the Investing in America agenda is reaching every corner of her district. See more from this visit here.
Expanding High-Speed Internet

To ensure people in New York’s 26th Congressional District have access to the Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP), Rep. Brian Higgins (NY-26) joined local organizations and business leaders to deliver 165 new laptops to college students in Buffalo, NY. Rep. Higgins also discussed how the ACP is serving 71,000 households in NY-26 and has the potential to reach 48,000 more. This event is a great example of House Democrats using district-level data to show how the Investing in America agenda can directly impact individual families in their community.
What’s Next?
- The Department of Energy (DOE) released its latest report on the Investing in America agenda, which shows that these investments are positioned to save Americans up to $38 billion on electric bills and double the share of American electricity generated by clean sources.
