Chair Hoyer Releases Video Showcasing House Democrats and White House Implementing the Investing in America Agenda
WASHINGTON, DC – Today, Congressman Steny H. Hoyer (MD-05), Chair of the Regional Leadership Council (RLC), released the following video recapping the "Investing in America Week of Action," an organized effort by the RLC and House Democratic Policy and Communications Committee (House DPCC) that inspired House Democrats to hold over 160 district events highlighting federal funding nationwide and the positive effects of the laws that Democrats enacted in the 117th Congress. This Week of Action emphasized House Democrats’ commitment to lowering costs, growing the middle class, and building safer communities in every corner of the country.

“During his 2024 State of the Union Address, President Biden spoke to the American people about how his Administration is implementing historic laws that are lowering costs, raising wages, and leaving no community in the cold. It is crucial that House Democrats carry that message into their local communities,” said Chair Hoyer. “With Republicans fighting among themselves, implementation is one of the most important ways Democrats are showing we are fighting for the American people. Whether it is the new and improved infrastructure in their towns because of the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, or the chance to pursue good-paying jobs because of the CHIPS and Science Act, or the financial relief of having insulin prices capped at $35 a month, our Members have worked tirelessly to make sure Americans in every corner of the country are seeing and feeling the impacts of the Investing in America agenda. The Regional Leadership Council looks forward to working to ensure families across the country have the tools they need to Make It In America."
Democratic Leader Hakeem Jeffries created the Regional Leadership Council in January 2023 and appointed Congressman Hoyer to serve as chair. The RLC consists of twelve Members who each represent one of the United States' twelve regions. The council is working to ensure that Americans in every corner of the country and in every zip code can access the opportunities created by the historic policies that Democrats secured in the 117th Congress, including the American Rescue Plan, the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, the CHIPS and Science Act, the Inflation Reduction Act, the Bipartisan Safer Communities Act, the Honoring Our PACT Act, and many others. Most recently, members of the RLC met with U.S. Secretary of Energy Jennifer Granholm to discuss how the Investing in America agenda is saving Americans money while moving the U.S. closer to our climate goals.
