RLC Weekly: Building a Strong Foundation for the Future
Dear colleagues,
During his remarks in the Rose Garden this week, President Biden said, "setbacks are unavoidable, but giving up is unforgivable." As the Biden-Harris Administration closes its term, House Democrats and the Regional Leadership Council are consistently informing the American people about how Democrats' investments are building the strongest economy in the world, lowering costs for working families, and creating family-sustaining jobs in communities that are too often overlooked. Here are the recent highlights of House Democrats remaining steadfast in their mission to inform people of this progress:
Celebrating Three Years of Bipartisan Infrastructure Law
To celebrate the three-year anniversary of the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law (BIL), Ranking Member Rep. Rick Larsen (WA-02) created an end-of-year report to capture the impact of transportation investments in his community. Members are encouraged to use the House Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure Democrats' Bipartisan Infrastructure Law Member Resource Guide to inform their constituents about the progress Democrats are making to modernize roads, bridges, public transportation, and more. For more inspiration on how to amplify the historic impact of the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, please see these social media posts from RLC Leaders Rep. Troy A. Carter (LA-02), Rep. Darren Soto (FL-09), and Rep. Lori Trahan (MA-03).
Relieving and Strengthening Communities
The investments that Congressional Democrats and the Biden-Harris Administration made through the Investing in America agenda continue to have an impact in communities across the country, including in RLC Leader Rep. Angie Craig's district (MN-02). Thanks to $7.6 million in federal funding, Dakota County leaders can offset their carbon emissions and lower long-term costs. Read more about this project here and here. Rep. Summer Lee (PA-12) also recently discussed the Inflation Reduction Act is lowering pollution and boosting quality of life in her district. Working Hard for Veterans
Many House Democrats spent Veterans Day weekend engaging constituents on the issues that impact Veterans and Military families. Rep. Chris Deluzio (PA-17) shared a video to highlight his commitment to the 37,000 Veterans in his area and redouble his efforts to deliver the benefits they earned. Rep. Gwen Moore (WI-04) recognized Veterans Day by highlighting what House Democrats fought for in the PACT Act and the over 1 million Veterans who have received PACT Act benefits to date.
